When he was younger, Jacky dreamt of this 16th century private residence whenever he passed in front of it. After years of adventures far and wide, this Montluçon native and his wife Nicole bought the residence in 1993, the year their daughter Emilie was born. The first years were devoted to developing the restaurant. It was only in 2000 that the first guest rooms were opened.
This charming residence, one of the only ones with a vast, leafy garden in the heart of Montluçon's historic quarter, is a haven of peace to share! Entirely renovated, it was furnished in the style of a private house with antique furniture from the family or found in flea-markets. Its refined décor, cosy lounges and personalised rooms invite you to feel comfortable throughout your stay. Your every need is catered to in this family-friendly hotel, founded more than 20 years ago, where their only wish is that their guests feel right at home!
Take a journey back in time and appreciate the history of the 15th century tower, called the "square tower" at the time, the well in the courtyard dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, a listed modern well, enhanced and restored in 1930 by André Gervais, an artist and journalist from Montluçon who owned the house. The open well features a sculpted rim and a coat of arms.
The Grenier à Sel won the TV show (Welcome to the hotel) shown on TF1 and featuring their daughter.
Behind the sumptuous 16th century façade covered with Virginia creeper are 8 rooms, each with their own atmosphere and named after an ancestor of the Morlon family, where you can luxuriate in a peaceful night's sleep. Combining tradition and modernity, they invite you to enjoy a unique stay in the heart of a calm and leafy quarter of Montluçon's old town.
Our rooms are not accessible for disabled people.
